Today, Virgin Atlantic is proud to announce the launch of a new route between London and Cancun, Mexico. The twice weekly service will begin on 12 June 2012 and will see up to 94,000 customers travelling between London and Cancun in the first year.

The new Mexico route will become Virgin Atlantic’s 33rd worldwide destinations. The new route is predicted to deliver around $25million of tourism revenue to the Cancun market each year and has the potential to create up to 650 jobs in aviation and tourism in Mexico.

The announcement comes as Virgin Atlantic celebrate 25 years of their London to Miami route with a celebratory 25th anniversary flight between the two cities.

Sir Richard Branson and guests will be arriving in Miami for a glamorous welcome party at the Versace Mansion and the opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of the city.
